Uppsala has plenty of bars and pubs. Regardless of whether you’re a beer-lover, music enthusiast or feel like mingling there’s a place for you.
Alongside Uppsala’s student nations you can find everything from small bars and cosy pubs to modern nightclubs and classic restaurants.
For beer and whisky fans, there are several British pubs that offer a wide range of drinks and excellent classic pub food. Some of them have up a thousand sorts of beer, twenty beer pumps and several brands of whisky.

Cosy bars with live music
Want to lay back with a glass of wine to the sound of live music? At several of Uppsala’s bars you can listen to everything from troubadours and bands from around Uppsala to the biggest names on the Swedish pop scene. Katalin and Bistro Hijazz to name just a few.
Modern and popular nightclubs
If you’re looking for hot modern pulsing nightclubs, you have quite a few to choose from. Drop in at the Plock or Tilltugg tapas bars, where you can order a well-mixed drink, combine your own menu of small dishes and watch people.
The bar at Stationen, inspired by London’s pubs, is a good choice if you want to hang out with fiends and have a bite to eat or a glass or two. The bar’s specialty is gin, with a range of gin cocktails and some not so well known brands.
Visit a hotel bar
Uppsala’s hotel bars have grown in popularity over the years. Every Friday you can take the lift up to Clarion Clarion Hotel Gillet's sky bar and enjoy a drink while gazing at the spectacular view of the cathedral and Uppsala Castle. If heights are not for you, you can stay on the ground at Kitchen & Table, the hotel’s Manhattan-inspired bar and restaurant.
Grand Hotell Hörnan has a cosy lobby bar where you can enjoy classic cocktails and drinks in a beautiful hotel atmosphere from 1907.
If you’re a night owl, you’ll like Picnic at Radisson Blu where the bar is open until 2 a.m. You can have a drink and socialise both inside and outside along the cool glass façade.
