Güntherska Hovkonditori & Schweizeri

If you want treats fit for a king, visit Güntherska Hovkonditoriet, located in central Uppsala next to the Fyris River. “Hovkonditori” is an honorary appointment awarded as seal of approval by the Royal Family.

This is one of Uppsala’s oldest cafes, with high ceilings and beautiful interior creating a elegant environment. The popular outdoor seating area along the river promenade is open all year round, with heaters and blankets available during the colder months. On the menu you will find pastries, cakes, and baked goods, as well as lighter meals, like sandwiches, salads, pies and soups. They also make their own delicious sourdough pizza. And if you visit during the summer, the homemade gelato is a must try!

Ofvandahls

Situated in an old building listed as an historic landmark, Ofvandahls on Sysslomansgatan is a classic cafe dating all the way back to 1878. In the well-preserved, turn-of-the-century setting, you will find portraits painted about a hundred years ago. Here, prominent Swedish suthors such as Hjalmar Bergman and Karin Boye drank their coffee, while poet Gustaf Fröding and Prince Eugen pondered the meaning of life while sitting on one of the plush-covered sofas.

There is a wide assortment of baked products on offer and genuine, classic pastries and sandwiches.

Ofvandahls is located on Sysslomansgatan, where you’ll find several independent shops, bars and even more cafes.

Café Varga

Café Varga is a café with unique atmosphere located in an old warehouse between the railway station and Uppsala concert hall. They serve light dishes, snacks, and fine pastries made with lots of love, which pair equally well with a glass of wine or a latte. They offer delicious organic coffee, snacks and friendly service in an calming environment of bright wood and Nordic design furniture. Konditori Fågelsången

Konditori Fågelsången is located in the heart of Uppsala, just below Uppsala Castle, with a view of the old swan pond (Fågelsång is the Swedish word for birdsong). The cafe has retained its charm from 1954, when the doors opened for the first time.

Fresh baked goods are delivered from the cafe bakery each day. You will also find great coffee, a large assortment of sandwiches and great service. The large outdoor seating area with room for 150 attracts guests of all ages from early spring to late autumn.

Landings Konditori

Since 1887, Landings Konditori has been providing high-quality baked goods to the residents of Uppsala. The café has only 10 seats inside, but if it’s full, both Fyrisån and Stadsparken are within walking distance for take away. Here you’ll find classic Swedish pastries, cookies, and sandwiches – and the popular, sweet cake inspired by the children’s book character Peter No-Tail.
