Open-air recreation and nature areas

Open-air recreation areas such as HammarskogFjällnora and Sunnersta are open to the public all year round. In the summer, you can enjoy the long exercise trails, swim, fish, watch birds or go canoeing. Some of the areas have adventure courses, climbing walls or other ground-level activities for a “wilderness experience”. When the winter comes and the waters freeze, ice skating paths are ploughed and ski runs laid out. Sunnerstaåsen has ski slopes with lifts for anyone who wants to go exploring by ski or snowboard.
