Upplandsmuseet is the county museum for Uppsala county. We aim to show you the vibrant and interesting cultural history of our county. We link the past to issues that are relevant both today and for the future, from a critical and scientific perspective. Visit the museum and see our exhibitions, demonstrations and programmes. Search for knowledge yourself in our library and archive or in our unique collections online. You can also contact us if you have any questions about the cultural environment, building preservation, archaeology and individual objects.
The museum has permanent exhibitions which describe the history of the city of Uppsala and the province of Uppland over a period of 5,000 years. There are also topical exhibitions on a range of subjects, with both an Uppland focus and a global perspective. Much of our programme activities take place here, with demonstrations, lectures and other activities for children and adults alike.
The museum is housed in an old mill from the 1760s, located on Kvarnholmen on the Fyrisån river, in the central part of Uppsala.
