Booking Terms and Conditions

These general terms and conditions are valid between Destination Uppsala and you, when you enter into an agreement with Destination Uppsala in accordance with that which is stated in the confirmation, as an individual, or through some other party,. The agreement can cover accommodation, transport, purchase of another product and service, or a combination of these.

Organiser responsible

The organiser responsible is Fyrishov AB, Idrottsgatan 2, 753 33 UPPSALA, 018-727 49 63, Corporate ID No. 556380-4524. For travel with scheduled transport, separate terms and conditions may apply. The booking point is obliged to ensure that you are given these when booking, and that you receive the necessary travel documents, and that you are informed about all changes of importance concerning your booking. If the products are booked with a retailer, it is the duty of the retailer to ensure that the terms and conditions and payment routines of the organiser are complied with by his customer.

Booking

The booking applies both for Destination Uppsala and for you as soon as Destination Uppsala has confirmed the booking.

Payment

Payment shall be made direct with a payment or credit card at the time of booking online on www.destinationuppsala.se. If invoiced, the amount shall be paid prior to arrival.

Payment with card

You can use a card which is connected to MasterCard and VISA. The full amount shall be paid direct. Security “3 D Secure” (Verified by VISA & MasterCard SecureCode) “3 D Secure” is a security technique which VISA & MasterCard have agreed on for verification of cardholders who purchase via e-commerce. This technology is fully integrated in our system. It means that when the technology is applied, a query is sent instantaneously as to whether there is any code on the card, and in most cases the answer is no. If, on the other hand, the card has a 3 D Secure code, the purchaser is channelled to the bank which credits him in order to supply his personal code to progress.

Cancellation

You can cancel via www.destinationuppsala.se. You need to give your booking number. Cancellation will not be accepted if it is made to someone else or is sent direct to the facility. Please check your booking confirmation for more information. Your cancellation will only be valid when you have received a text confirmation (e-mail) of your cancellation from us. When cancelling, charges apply in accordance with Separate Terms and Conditions.

Booking changes

If it is possible to change parts of the booking, the cost of this is given in Separate Terms and Conditions. NB! Changing your date of arrival or date of departure is counted as cancellation.

Cancellation cover

You can cover yourself against the cost of cancellation by purchasing cancellation cover. For prices, see under Separate Terms and Conditions.

With cancellation cover, you can cancel prior to arrival free of charge if the following occur: Death, sickness or accident of a serious nature affecting you, your wife/husband, partner, their or your parents, child, sibling or co-traveller.

Call-up for the armed forces or civil defence.

Some other serious event occurs which is outside your control, for example, extensive fire or flooding in your residence, which means that it is not reasonable to ask you to keep your booking. You must be able to prove the impediment with a doctor’s certificate, or certificate from an authority or insurance company. A certificate which arrives more than 7 days after the cancellation date will not be approved.

The charge for cancellation cover, alteration fee and booking fee will not be repaid.

Complaints and disputes

If all or part of your booking cannot be delivered in accordance with the booking confirmation, and if no replacement arrangement can be organised, the difference of which compared with what you booked is so small that it is of no importance for you, for example, hotel or cottage of the same class, you have the right to cancel. Then you will be repaid everything you paid, with deduction of the value of those parts of the booking which you may already have utilised. If a transport service or event which is included in the booking is cancelled at short notice, repayment will be made only for cancelled event/transport service. If there is some fault after arrival, ensure that you get it put right on site, for example at the hotel. If you have omitted to seek rectification during the rental period and thus not given the hotel or landlord the opportunity of putting right any shortcomings, you cannot ask for compensation afterwards. If you are nevertheless not satisfied with the compensation, you shall make this clear in writing not later than 14 days after departure to Destination Uppsala, info@destinationuppsala.se. If we do not agree with one another, you can turn to the National Board for Consumer Complaints.

The obligations of the seller

You will receive printed confirmation of your booking. Services purchased conform to the description given of them. We are not responsible for promises which the owner or his contact person might have made to you direct without telling us, and which we have not known about. (If you have agreed about something not covered by the organiser’s agreement, make sure that you receive it in writing and signed by an owner or contact person). You will be informed about all important changes affecting your booking. The supplier will be paid for the services you have purchased.

The obligations of the purchaser

Check the booking confirmation as soon as you receive it. Any discrepancies shall be notified immediately. Promises made by the booking personnel which are of importance for you shall be noted in the booking for them to be referred to. Follow the regulations and instructions that apply for the particular trip you have booked. You will receive that information upon confirmation.

The Swedish Personal Data Act

By making payment, you agree that your personal information may be handled by Destination Uppsala. The aim of this is to make possible customary guest administration, to ensure that Destination Uppsala has access to reliable personal documentation in the case of an accident, to fulfil the terms and conditions of cancellation cover and to administer and handle any losses. The information can also be used to provide information about insurance and payment services and travel-related offers. Anyone who wishes to have information about what information is registered can apply for this in accordance with section 26 of the Swedish Personal Data Act. Please inform Destination Uppsala in writing if you wish to correct or remove your information from the customer register.

Separate Terms and Conditions

Minimum booking age

In order to book or to enter into agreement with us, you must be 18 years of age or over. When residing as a large party, at least two persons shall be over the age of 18 if no higher age limit is stipulated in the resort information. Confirmation of age must be shown on arrival. Fulfilment of the age limit is a requirement for access to the accommodation.

Payment

Full payment shall be made direct when booking.

Cancellation cover

Can only be taken out when making the booking and for certain products and services. Cancellation cover applies for all named persons in the booking. The cancellation cover only applies in connection with production of a doctor’s certificate. Price: SEK 295 per booking.

Cancellation Costs


Package (package with lodging and activity)

30 days or more prior to arrival: SEK 100 per booking
0-30 days prior to arrival: full price
Charges for cancellation cover will not be repaid.

Regular booking

(When cancellation cover has not been taken out or does not apply).
21 days or more prior to arrival: 0% of the booking price.
21-14 days prior to arrival 25% of the booking price
13-2 days prior to arrival. 50% of the booking price (Booking charge)
1-0 days prior to arrival: 100% of the booking price.

If you have cancellation cover, the entire sum will be repaid. See the rules for cancellation cover. Charges for cancellation cover will not be repaid.

If you have impediments at short notice and outside office hours, you can cancel the hotel by contacting the hotel direct. Repayment cannot be guaranteed if cancellation was made direct with the hotel.

Transport

In accordance with the respective regulations of the transport or airline company.

Changes

In the case of changes where payment has been made, an alteration charge of SEK 100 per occasion and booking applies.

Terms and conditions for transfer

Transfer of accommodation and event can be made prior to the departure date, with transfer of travel tickets, if the terms and conditions of the carrier permit this. The carrier must be informed as to whom the transfer was made to. Note that the booking charge and any cancellation cover will not be repaid.

Other terms and conditions when renting cottages

Arrival/Departure

Arrival: Not earlier than 15.00 on the day of arrival. Departure: Not later than 12.00 on the day of departure

Equipment

In the cottage there is a full set of equipment for housekeeping. Unless otherwise stated, take your own bed linen, towels, detergent and other cleaning agents and toilet paper.

Cleaning

Upon departure, the cottage shall have been cleaned and all equipment that has been used, washed up. The cleaning list shall be handed in to the cottage landlord upon departure when the keys are returned.

Other matters

You must take good care of the cottage and comply with the regulations and instructions which apply. When you have booked, you are yourself responsible for all damage which might occur to the property and its furniture, fittings and fixtures through you or someone in your party having been careless. Any loss of furniture, fixtures and fittings or damage shall be made good prior to departure.

Force Majeure

If the trip cannot be made on account of a hindrance outside the control of the organiser that the organiser could not reasonably have been expected to have anticipated when the agreement was entered into, and the results of which could not reasonably have been avoided, or surmounted, the organiser is free from liability to pay damages or other consequences. The same applies also if cancellation of the trip is due to someone who the organiser has engaged or someone at an earlier stage. We reserve the right to make changes in legislation and price changes which are outside our control.
